Jig

QUICK GUIDE

A jig is a type of fishing lure designed to resemble small fish, rarely larger than 10 centimeters.

The typical buildup of a jig consists of a heavy head with a ring to attach the line to, connected to the head is a hook with a barb.

The body of the jig has two common designs:

  • A rubber/silicone plastic body with one larger part and one thinner extrusion at the end that will give the impression of a tail fin when the jig is 'swimming' through the water.
  • A Soft body made out of feathers and/or some other soft material.

There are several types of fishing lures:

Jig
Wobbler
Spinner
Spoon Lures
